RAK Holding to open 500 NearBuy stores

RAK Holding is planning to open 500 NearBuy grocery stores by the first quarter of 2009, with a total cost of Dhs150m ($41m), reported Gulf News. The head of RAK Holding said 100 outlets will be opened this month and a further 400 stores will open by the first quarter of next year. The size of the stores will average around 1,200 square feet and will cost between Dhs300,000 and Dhs350,000 to build and develop.
