This close and strategic collaboration is aimed at ultimately allowing Cisco to support the design and creation of an intelligent infrastructure for a connected real estate framework for BARWA's future projects.

In an official ceremony, BARWA Real Estate presented by Dr. Mohamed Al-Ansari, CEO of BARWA Technologies a subsidiary of BARWA Real Estate, and Cisco presented by Wayne Hull, the General Manager of Cisco South Gulf, signed the MOU highlighting the strategic partnership and key areas of cooperation and joint discussions.

"We are confident that our strategic collaboration with Cisco will fit in our strategy of building intelligent and world-class iconic developments that will give us the edge to differentiate our services. This MOU will further our commitment to provide state-of-the-art value added services, and a highly efficient growth driven business environment," said Dr. Al-Ansari.

Cisco's Connected Real Estate initiative (CCRE), which was developed in the Gulf region and quickly became a globally replicable model for Cisco, has the potential to play a major role in the transformation of real estate developments across emerging economies. BARWA Real Estate, on the other hand, is investing in technologies to provide world class innovative solutions, focused on improving the lifestyle of tomorrow's residential and commercial communities. This includes the emphasis on developing integrated solutions and ubiquitous community services.

BARWA and Cisco are further discussing the deployment of the Cisco Connected Real Estate (CCRE) solution as part of BARWA Real Estate technology solutions, a multi-service Internet Protocol (IP) platform and network framework that integrates multiple technologies and allows for the convergence of data, voice and video simultaneously.

"Our goal of adopting this CCRE solution is to help enable BARWA to accommodate ever-changing business requirements during every development and construction stage" added Dr. Al-Ansari.

Wayne Hull, general manager of Cisco South Gulf said: "Cisco's Connected Real Estate framework consists of building a smart communications infrastructure that will then become the fabric of every building, and will act as the platform supporting all the development's real estate requirements,"

By adopting Cisco Connected Real Estate solutions, BARWA Real Estate can offer new services that can drive revenue generation and reduce capital and operational expenditure. The solutions allow occupiers to adopt a highly flexible organizational model and benefit from faster set-up and greater productivity.

"CCRE can drastically cut building management costs by consolidating key services and resources. It can create new revenue streams through innovative and premium managed services. Increase the efficiency and productivity of users, improving attraction and retention rates and helping the providers to achieve ROI," concluded Hull.
