These enticing promotions make shoppers and retailers alike wait every year for the unique annual extravaganza where a large variety of branded products are available at highly competitive prices, thus securing more profits for retailers than any time else of the year.

Retailers at Al Ghurair City, a DSMG member, have hailed the annual bonanza, stressing that the big event is one major driving force behind reviving the retail sector in the country during the summer.

'We are quite keen to participate every year in the DSS in a way that differs from other retailers, making optimal use of the high demand from multi-national shoppers and offering up to 75% discounts in order to draw in shop-lovers, specially, foreigners who usually come to Dubai for shopping during this time of the year,'

said Hussein Zeid Suleyman, Manager of Al Sherif Group that is specialized in selling crystal products, travel bags and domestic linens.

Paris Gallery features high as usual during the DSS, offering special promotions at Al Ghurair City, as confirmed by Farid Assad, Sales Manager.

'The promotions include Lancome, Dior, Givenchy and other world famous brands, including a large variety of perfumes, cosmetics and watches,' said Assad, stressing the vital role played by the DSS in reinvigorating the retail industry in Dubai during the summer months by wooing more families into Dubai from different parts of the region.

'Guess actively participates in the DSS promotions every year to attract Guess lovers coming to Dubai from every part of the world during this key summer event,' said Leen de Lion, manager of a Guess outlet at Al Ghurair City.

'DSS logo and labels at any outlet are enough to attract a large number of shoppers, both adults and kids, and that's why we always prominently display them at our shops to draw in more customers,' she added, noting that sales are higher during this time of the year due to the large number of foreigners visiting the emirate to make use of the DSS promotions.
