While expressing her appreciation for the efforts and support of HE Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and HE Eng Hamad Buamim, in promoting the Council to make it a strong support for businesswomen in Dubai, Mrs. Raja thanked DBWC members for their effective participation in Council events and activities.
The DBWC President praised the role of DBWC as a link between the private and government sectors, between businesswomen in the UAE and abroad, in addition to its role of introducing investment opportunities to its members.
Regarding the website, she considered it a valuable introduction to the Council that carried the name of Dubai, the main center of business and commerce in the Gulf.
The website, www.dbwc.ae highlights DBWC services and facilities for businesswomen and includes beneficial information on the UAE, business establishments, investment opportunities in Dubai and DBWC objectives. Online registration is also possible.
On the occasion, HE Eng Hamad Buamim said:
"Operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber, the Dubai Business Women Council has been playing a pioneering role since its establishment in 2002. It works side-by-side with Dubai Chamber to support women entrepreneurs with access to B2B tools and provides a useful database to enhance their competitiveness through a series of thoughtful and bold initiatives and policies and programs designed to support them at all stages of development in the public and private sectors. The prestigious launch of the Council's official website, I am sure, will go a long way in encouraging and motivating more UAE-based women to take up business and also strengthen the membership of the Businesswomen Council."
