Qatar has already qualified as one of the last 16 teams for the knock-out tournament, as they will host the event in 2011, with ASPIRE Academy providing practice and training facilities for the event.
The ASPIRE Dome has quickly become one of the most active sporting facilities in the world, having the venue occupied almost every day in the 2007 and 2008 calendar year, and has played host to some of the biggest events, including the 15th Asian Games.
Dr. Andreas Bleicher, Sports Director, ASPIRE said:
'We welcome our visitors from the Asian Football Confederation, and all of the representatives of the participating countries. The AFC Asian Cup is a flagship competition, and the event is loved by the students, who will be looking forward to seeing who their country will play.'
The representatives from each playing nation, and the AFC, will be taken on a tour of the ASPIRE complex's facilities, before the draw takes place.
The ASPIRE Dome is a world-class sporting facility comprising state-of-the-art sports science labs, fitness halls, a physiotherapy/medical centre, an indoor football pitch, an indoor 200m athletics track, an Olympic-sized swimming and diving pool, gymnastics hall, 2 multipurpose sports halls, table-tennis hall, combat sports area, a five-a-side football hall, a fencing area and two squash courts.
