The projects' Health, Safety and Environmental Protection (HSEP) department has been awarded OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety Management; ISO 14001 for Environmental Management; and ISO 9001 for Quality Management. In September 2007, Nakheel's Design Group was awarded the same international certifications in health and safety, environment and quality management.
ISO, the world's largest developer of international standards, is a global network made up of over 150 countries. It provides governments with a technical base for health, safety and environmental legislation and also aims to safeguard consumers.
