Procter & Gamble 'Connects' with the local community

As part of its ongoing commitment to 'Touching Lives, Improving Life', Procter & Gamble Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan launched its 'Connect' initiative, at an inaugural dinner event held at the Habtoor Grand Hotel in Dubai.

During the first of its kind event, guests had a unique opportunity to learn more about Procter & Gamble, their operations in the Arabian Peninsula region as well as hear about the company's contribution to the local communities in which it operates.

'P&G has built a rich heritage of touching consumers' lives with brands that make life better every day. This simple purpose has enabled us to become one of the world's leading consumer products companies,' said Al Rajwani, Vice President and General Manager, Procter & Gamble Arabian Peninsula & Pakistan.

'P&G 'Connect' is a new concept whereby we hope to build continuous relationships with key partners and consumers in the region, and help them to understand us better as a company, as well as learn about our corporate social responsibility activities, which we take very seriously.'



Using its reach to millions of consumers across the region, Procter & Gamble aims to maximize contributions, and raise awareness of, initiatives that support important causes in society such as 'Create Heroes', a campaign launched to support Special Olympics MENA - an organization that serves intellectually disabled children and adults; 'Healthy Smiles', a campaign designed to promote oral health amongst children and their parents and 'You Can Help Defeat Breast Cancer', a campaign designed to deliver vital health education to those women who otherwise may not be exposed to such important information.

'At Procter & Gamble our products and purpose as a company is to improve people's lives and we are proud of our achievements,' said Yassin Attas, External Relations Director, Procter & Gamble Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan. The evening concluded with a performance by Olga D, the ultimate violinist, who entertained guests with her spectacular Arabic fusion piece.
