Batelco donation supports Deaf Society

Batelco has donated BD8000 to Bahrain Deaf Society, as part of the company's social responsibility to assist charitable establishments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Batelco Corporate Affairs General Manager Nadia Hussain presented the donation cheque to Bahrain Deaf Society Chairman Mahdi Saleh Al Noami during a recent visit by members of the society to Batelco Headquarters in Hamala.

The Bahrain Deaf Society, which was officially established in 2007, aims to enhance the educational opportunities for hearing impaired people in Bahrain and assist them in becoming fully integrated into the community and lead full and productive lives. The Society works with both the government and private sectors to create job opportunities for this sector of the community.

During the past three years, the society has successfully participated in a number of sporting and theatre activities. Members have also participated in GCC conferences and additionally been actively involved in a number of religious, educational, health and entertainment events.
