The new showroom covers an area of 1050 square meters on Makkah Road.
Eng. Abdulmohsen Bin Abdullatif Alissa, the Chairman of Abdullatif Alissa Holding Group, launched the new showroom in the presence of Mr. Michozuki President, Isuzu Operations-Thailand, Mr. Inue. GM Isuzu Motors-Middle East, Mr. Nakagawa, GM, Mitsubishi Corporation-Japan, and the senior management of Isuzu, Mitsubishi Co, IOT, and Alissa.
A large number of Alissa customers also participated in the inauguration programme.
The inauguration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a press conference, at which the dialogue between the journalists and the Alissa Management covered different aspects related to the automotive industry, the Alissa- Isuzu partnership, and the projection of the auto market in KSA.
Eng. Abdulmohsen bin Abdullatif Alissa commented: 'The opening of this new Isuzu showroom represents an essential stage of our strategic expansion plan, in order to be closer to customers.
He added, 'At the beginning of 2008, Isuzu Motors introduced the new E Class and C Class heavy duty trucks in the Kingdom with a net loading capacity of 20 tons and 40 tons respectively. The new trucks were met with huge demand from the heavy duty trucks users. All trucks from this segment in stock have been sold out, and have attracted sold-out future orders over the next six months.'
Mr. Shintaro Mochizuki, President of Isuzu Operations (Thailand) Co, said: 'We surpassed our competitors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2007 and became number two in the share of the total Pick-up market in this country. D-Max especially has increased its share in the diesel Pick-up segment very rapidly and reached 73% last year.
Mr. Mochizuki added: 'I am confident that Alissa's new showroom will become one of important key stations in Middle East region by expanding its services to satisfy customers needs and serve them in the best way. I hope that this showroom contributes not only to the expansion of the Alissa operation, but also to the success of entire Isuzu business worldwide.'
Mr. Masanori Inue, GM Isuzu Motors-Middle East declared: 'Isuzu Light duty trucks' market share reached 80% in 2008, and our task is not in maintaining this high market share only, but to continue raising our market share toward 90%, because our vehicles are the best in reliability, quality, durability, fuel efficiency, and their technology.'
It is well known that Isuzu Motors is the largest global manufacturer of diesel engines and the pioneer in its technology.
Isuzu Motors was thus able to dominate the market share of light duty trucks, in many countries in the world.
Abdullatif Alissa Automotive Co. has achieved steady growth in the sales of Isuzu products and the after sales services since 1985, when it won the distributorship rights of Isuzu Motors, especially over the last four years; whereby sales have increased by 150%.
