His journey to the Middle East came as part of his world tour in his way to Drupa which considered as the longest trip ever to an event.

The Pre-Drupa, 'Digital Printing Technology - Future of Printing' event was created specifically for the Middle East print industry owners and leaders to gain an insight on the latest trends in printing as well as the views of a global industry expert such as Frank Romano. It also enabled the attendees to engage with upcoming Xerox activities at Drupa 2008 - the biggest stage for the graphic arts industry globally - that will be held in Germany from 29 May to 11 June 08. The event was attended by more than 200 of the region's print industry experts.

DRUPA 2008 is expected to be the most important Drupa show over the last few years, as it will point the way to the future of the printing industry. "The digital printing technologies shown and discussed will set the stage for the next decade of reproduction innovation" said Frank Romano. Romano also predicts that by 2020 that digital printing will replace offset printing.

Frank Romano's career has spanned 48 years in the printing and publishing industries. He is the author of 44 books, including the 10,000-term "Encyclopedia of Graphic Communications" (with Richard Romano), the standard reference in the field.
