Mr. Al Bastaki added, prior to his departure to Toulouse in France to attend the initial meeting with Airbus to agree and place the final technical specifications of the new aircraft. The digital system incorporates more intuitive navigation through movies, music, information and short feature programming plus new features designed to make passengers' entertainment experience more pleasurable. Inspired by the advances screen design, screen functions have been grouped together to give passengers swifter access to entertainment, information about their destination.
The delivery of the new generation A320 will be delivered in April 2009 to Bahrain Air directly from Airbus Industries in Toulouse, France and it will be the first aircraft of its type to join Bahrain Air's fleet.
On the other hand, Mr. AlBastaki confirmed that intensive efforts are already underway to arrange courses to Bahraini engineers and technicians, prior to the increase in the fleet size of Bahrain Air to 5 aircraft before the next summer, either directly or through the Maintenance Company HAECO, which is providing the maintenance and technical support to Bahrain Air.

Bahrain Air will be taking delivery of its new Airbus 320, which will be equipped with a new digital in-flight entertainment System offering passengers greater choice and control over their in-flight entertainment choices, according to Mr. Abdul Moeen Al Bastaki, Bahrain Air's Senior Manager Technical.

Bahrain Air was incorporated on 2 July 2007 as a Bahraini Shareholding Company 'Closed' B.S.C (C) with a capital of ten million Bahrain Dinars (US$ 26.5 million). It is currently serving 10 destinations in the Gulf, Middle East, Levant, and Indian sub‐continent. The airline is a Premium Low Price Carrier 'PLPC' with two class service, Premium and Economy. The airline operates point to point services with a minimum connecting transit time in Bahrain International Airport. It offers affordable fares to all its network destinations.Bahrain Air started operations out of Bahrain International Airport on 3 February 2008.
Currently it operates twice daily services at convenient timings to Dubai and Doha, five weekly flights to Alexandria in Egypt, four weekly flights to Beirut, three each to Damascus, Amman and two to Aleppo in addition to three to Mashad in Iran. On 26th May 2008, three weekly flights commenced to Kochi in South India which will increase to daily flights from October 2008. New destinations planned for launch effective October 2008 are daily flights to Kuwait and two weekly flights to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

Bahrain Air operates a fleet of 2 modern Airbus 320, with 12 seat capacity in Premium Class furbished with comfortable leather seats and ample legroom. A variety of local and international newspapers, magazines, selection of fresh food and beverages ensure the most comfortable flight for Premium Class passengers at very competitive fares. Moreover, the Premium Class passengers are extended an invitation to use the Business Class Lounges at the departure airports.
