PRO TECHnology unveils first 2.5' mobile HDD with 500 GB storage capacity by Freecom

Freecom has recognised the opportunity in launching this highest capacity mobile drive for regional customers as recent statistics have shown a significant increase in the demand for PC notebooks and accessories.

The studies also revealed that the sales of those products in the UAE market are expected to cross $1bn in 2008, thereby fuelling the demand for mobile storage products from Freecom.

ToughDrive PRO U&F is the first and the only 500GB capacity mobile drive available in the region today, and is the newest addition to the manufacturer's 2.5' series of extremely high performance HDDs, which also includes the ToughDrive HDD with 320 GB capacity and the recently launched ToughDrive PINK.

Equipped with FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interface, the 200-gram hard disk is the ideal external storage solution for people on the move due to its superior capacity to connect to a wide variety of handheld computers and consumer electronic devices.

Fitted with an internal anti-shock frame and a unique soft silicon cover, the latest ToughDrive product provides outstanding protection to valuable data in the event of severe trauma to the hardware. Offering optimised file sharing, backup, archiving and installation functions, ToughDrive PRO U&F addresses users' need for high capacity drives to manage storage-hungry content.

The hard disk sports a slim design, with dimensions measuring only 155 x 82 x 19 mm, and does not require an AC adapter for power supply.

Compatible to both PC and Mac, the robust storage drive also includes the award-winning NTI Shadow backup software, which automatically and continuously protects photo, music, video and other data files, and comes with a two-year manufacturer's warranty and unlimited helpdesk support.
