The new premises targets servicing the Dubai market for the Express leader in addition to providing more connectivity to the main routes.

Bryan Moulds, Country General Manager commented:

"In order to cater for increased demand for services and future expected growth, it has been necessary to expand our facilities. We have taken a strategic decision to open new premises and gave a lot of attention in the selection of the perfect location that would offer excellent links to both the Dubai International Airport and main arterial routes such as the Emirates highway and Al Itihad roads."

Mark Gunton, Managing Director, America Middle East & Africa accompanied by Jinendra Sanchetti, Managing Director, Middle East & Africa, government officials and industry executives attended the opening of the new facility and toured its different units.

Commenting on the new opening, Mark states: "TNT has been leading the market in terms of growth, with shipment numbers in excess of 70% over the previous year. The growth looks set to continue with new facilities in Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi and the new World Central airport as phase 2 of TNT's multimillion dollar investment strategy."

The new operational facilities offer more space for sortation and for the delivery fleet as well as increase cargo and heavy freight capacity for road and air services.

The facility also gives TNT more room for future expansion with the ability to service more areas before 9am, 10am and 12pm enhanced by the connectivity.

The New premises support handling all Dubai local market collections; and processes upwards of 35,000 shipments per week.

It is to be the main hub for local market road collections outside Jebel Ali & Abu Dhabi and is expected to process hundreds of thousands of kilos per month into TNT's road and air networks.
