The conference was attended by 80 delegates from the Middle East and North Africa representing distributors of BP, Castrol and Veedol in the region.

On the occasion, Eng. Omar Ahmed Qatan, omanoil CEO expressed:

"This award is an attestation to our continued focus to promote a culture of safety in and outside the Company and comply with all government laws relating to HSE."

He added, "Everyone who works for the company, staff as well as contractors are empowered to 'think safety' and feel responsible for their actions at all times to ensure that we achieve a common goal of zero accidents to benefit the community at large."

Qatan went on to say that this fundamental belief has helped the Company achieve a record of 15 years of LTI-free in the MAF terminal. "This is a remarkable achievement considering the complex nature of the terminal's operations and the use of facilities by third parties including ex-depot and cash customer. The achievement is a result of constant vigilance, supervision and management of all operators including customers and contractors, and ensuring total compliance with the Company's stringent HSE standards and procedures," he concluded.

With the constant endeavor to introduce new methods in maintaining high levels of environmental excellence, omanoil has successfully initiated new technologies in environmental cleanup such as the remediation system which has been designed, developed and implemented for the first time in Oman and the Gulf. The available resources, capabilities and experience within the Company have primed omanoil to grow further and continually improve standards and operational efficiency.
