Shakeela Moosa appointed as General Manager of Summertown Joinery Division

In response to growing demand from multinationals as well as larger UAE-based clients, Summertown Interiors - the international corporate turnkey design and fit-out solution specialist - has enhanced its joinery division team by recently appointing a new general manager of the 100,000 square foot joinery facility in Jebel Ali.

Bespoke furniture has emerged as a corporate essential in the UAE with an increasing number of businesses opting to custom-design pieces, and custom-create their workspace to accurately reflect their business identity and ensure the ultimate in comfort and quality.

In her new role as General Manager of Summertown Joinery, which produces bespoke fitment, furniture s and fixtures on-site -- carefully considering durability, style, comfort, functionality and most importantly timeless design -- Shakeela Moosa will work closely with Marcos Bish, Managing Director of Summertown Interiors, in the company's Dubai office.

'Having managed a number of key projects for Summertown clients has given Shakeela a keen sense of customer requirements in the UAE and her expertise will help enable us to deliver bespoke furniture to our corporate clients on-time and within budget,' he added.

In her role as general manager, Moosa will be responsible for the joinery's strategic direction, product and services announcements in addition to business development and human resource management.

With more than 25 years of experience in teaching, construction, building material and the interiors professions, both in the Middle East and abroad, Moosa has a firm understanding of the corporate interiors industry. She brings to her new role a range of skills developed in both Oman and the UAE. Initially starting as a project coordinator, Moosa has been involved in a number of prominent Summertown Interiors projects, which include: Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX), Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC Bank), Medserve and the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi.

Holding a degree in civil engineering from the University of Kerala, India, Moosa continued her studies gaining a master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from one of India's most renowned technology universities: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
