The Land Qatar names Victor E. J. Orth as Managing Director

The Land Real Estate Investment and Development Company (The Land) announced today that its board of directors has named Victor E.J. Orth Jr., MRICS, ASA as the company's new Managing Director to head up the premier developers operations in Qatar.

Orth, 52, brings 27 years real estate experience gained in the US, Europe and the Middle East, and joins The Land from Al Qudra Real Estate (UAE), where he managed a $40bn in real estate development projects as CEO and General Manager.

Previously, Orth served as a Senior Director for Sama Dubai, a division of Dubai Holdings, following Regional Managing Partner positions for Real Estate services throughout Europe with Ernst & Young, Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Victor E.J. Orth Jr. Biography
Victor Orth was named Managing Director of The Land Qatar and member of the board of directors of The Land Holding on 1 June 2008.
Victor Orth was previously CEO and General Manager of Al Qudra Real Estate and a Senior Director with Sama Dubai in UAE. Earlier Orth spent 15 years in Europe as Partner in Charge of Real Estate Advisory Services for Ernst & Young (Greece), Arthur Andersen (Hungary) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (Hungary).

Mr. Orth is a member of the UK Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a senior member of real estate Appraisal institutions in the USA, Romania and Hungary. Orth has also been a quoted and published author and lecturer in Europe, USA and the GCC, working with organizations such as the United Nations, World Bank and the Financial Times amongst many others.

He earned a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Planning and Design in 1982 from Illinois Institute of Technology and Masters Degree in Real Estate Science from Nottingham-Trent University, United Kingdom in 1996.
