The Rezidor Hotel Group launches new intranet

The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies worldwide, has launched a new intranet which will offer its 29,000 employees in 53 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa a modern and effective communication platform with a contemporary design, up-to-date news on the group, tailored information for each function at corporate, regional and hotel level across different brands, and other smart applications and automated functions.

"Intranet is our most important tool for internal communication", comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. "We want our employees across 53 countries to be engaged in our company's growth, strategies and overall success. Through the new intranet we can ensure to maintain an open dialogue with our people", adds Ritter.

Rezidor's new intranet called RezPortal provides the opportunity for each business unit within the organisation, i.e. corporate, regional and hotel, to share latest news, best practices, awards and achievements, and other relevant information group wide. RezPortal's design is brand specific, so employees get a genuine experience while surfing the intranet. They have the choice to either stick to their own business unit/brand - or to traverse the portal anytime to get news and inspiration from other properties or departments as well. From corporate announcements to local achievements, from best practices database to standards of service and operation (brand portals) - the portal covers all aspects of Rezidor's daily business and strategic direction.

Further tools such as a powerful people search engine across the entire enterprise, clearly arranged applications and an extensive department-specific library complete the portal.

"We also added a new search facility powered by Google Search Appliance", explains Finn Schulz, Senior Vice President IT of Rezidor. "It enables our employees to search all our brand web sites and the portal for any kind of information. RezPortal also provides a unique multi-brand booking engine for employees to book their hotel stay within Rezidor at special Employee and Family & Friends rates," adds Finn Schulz. A wide range of the intranet's content is open information and accessible without login; only certain classified contents or functions require identification.

"Over the last years Rezidor has developed into an international player of our industry - unifying different people and different cultures. Our new intranet reflects this: We offer individual information and one common language at the same time, to sustain and build up our unique Yes I Can! company culture", summarises Finn Schulz.

Rezidor maintains a strong internal communication and people development programme to engage and educate its employees.
