Commenting on the visit, Mark Benton, Country Manager, DHL Express Bahrain said:
"As part of DHL's contribution to the local community, we continue to search for ways to enhance education in the Kingdom. It gives us great pleasure to have school children visit the Hub and we welcome any initiative which assists our children to reach their maximum potential."
A total of 22 children, aged 8-9 years were hosted by Kevin Goodburn, Customer Service Development Manager, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa and Alpana Menezes, Bahrain Hub Operations Administrator. The children were taken to see the sorting of documents and parcels, participating in the handling of the shipments as part of the processing operation, and also viewing the automated systems in the hub. The visit included a tour of DHL's Quality Control Centre, in which they were able to view the unloading of DHL's aircraft through the window. The tour then ended with a short educational quiz on cities of the world.
