Dubai's hotel revenue up 22%

Dubai's hotel sector recorded 22% growth in revenues reaching Dhs4.261bn ($1.16bn) during the first quarter of 2008, compared to Dhs3.49bn recorded during the corresponding quarter last year, according to Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. The number of hotel and hotel apartment guests rose to 1.89 million in the first quarter this year compared to 1.76 million recorded in the corresponding period last year, showing an increase of 7%. It is the highest guest increase percentage in the world, DTCM said.
