Value of trading on ADX soars

The value of securities traded on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in the first half of 2008 trebled compared to the first half of 2007, according to Tom Healy, Chief Executive of ADX. The value of securities traded on the exchange from 1 January to 30 June 2008 was Dhs163bn ($44bn), compared to Dhs51bn ($14bn) in the same period last year. Accordingly, the number of shares traded and the number of trades also increased dramatically by 93% and 60%, respectively.
