Lloyds TSB picks up second award for Emiratisation

Lloyds TSB Middle East, part of one of the world's largest banking groups, has been recognized for their contributions to Emiratisation by the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS).

The award was presented, on the occasion of the EIBFS 25 year anniversary, to Lloyds TSB's Managing Director Bert De Ruiter in Abu Dhabi and is the second such award to be received by the bank in the last six months and emphasizing the banks commitment to recruiting and training UAE nationals.

On collecting the award, from His Excellency Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, on behalf of Lloyds TSB's Head of Emiraterisation Abdul Rahman Saqr said:

"This prestigious award from the EIBFS illustrates our dedication to becoming the 'Employer of Choice' for Emiratis. We continue to build a bank which supports the successful future of the UAE and recognize that is in the hands of its young and talented Nationals."


Bert De Ruiter, Managing Director of Lloyds TSB Middle East, added:

In March 2008 Lloyds TSB Middle East won an award for Emiratisation from the 10th national career fair in banking and financial sector - Sharjah, as a result of their efforts in embedding the initiative within their organisation. The Undergraduate Development Programme (UDP) complements other programmes and initiatives run at Lloyds TSB aimed at developing UAE National talent.

In addition a management training scheme is run for full time talented graduate entrants to the bank and Lloyds TSB's successful 'Head Start' programme is designed specifically to aid school leavers seeking a career in banking. Lloyds TSB also has permanent positions for talented UAE Nationals across all functions in the Bank.

The main branch of Lloyds TSB is in Jumeirah, housed in a custom built landmark
building, located on Al Wasl Road opposite Safa Park. The bank also has Customer Service Centres located at the Arabian Ranches, Healthcare City, Green Community and UPtown Mirdif.

Lloyds TSB Middle East employs over 300 people providing a full range of financial services including: Personal Banking, Business Banking, Corporate Banking, Offshore Banking, Private Banking, Treasury Services and Trade Finance Services.
