Caviar goes local in UAE

The Abu Dhabi-based Bin Salem Group and its German partner, United Food Technologies are putting in $80m to set up a climate-controlled facility for a fish farm producing caviar, the Financial Times has reported. The facility includes swimming-pool-sized basins that will house thousands of sturgeon, expected to produce 40 tons a year of caviar and 710 tons of smoked and sliced sturgeon meat, being eyed for export.
