Sharjah is home to Air Arabia's largest hub, which in turn connects the region's leading low-cost carrier to 41 destinations throughout the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and Central Asia.

Air Arabia has worked closely with Sharjah International Airport to expand tourist and infrastructure facilities there in order to accommodate the expected increase in airline passengers in the future.

Since Air Arabia's launch in 2003, Sharjah International Airport has witnessed a substantial increase in passenger traffic.

In 2007 alone the emirate welcomed more than 1.45 million tourists at its hotels.
