BT launches security services portfolio across the Middle East

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, July 15 - 2008 at 15:42
  • PRESS RELEASE

BT, one of the world's leading providers of communications solutions and services operating in 170 countries, is announcing immediate availability of its Secure Networking Quick Start Service across the Middle East.

The new service enables organizations to assess their network security rapidly; identify weaknesses; and take cost-effective corrective and preventative measures.

Tareque Choudhury, BT's Head of BT's Business Continuity and Security Practice for Middle East and Africa, said:

"Today's connected world brings enormous potential for organizations to communicate more effectively with customers, employees and business partners - but it also brings new security challenges. With malicious attacks and misuse of organization resources on the increase across the Middle East, these day-to-day business activities are under constant threat."

BT has a wealth of experience in building and managing secure global networks, providing complete protection for global networked IT infrastructures.

Its services in the security area combine a unique set of tools, with the experience, knowledge and expertise of consultants from BT Counterpane and BT INS' Ethical Hacking Centre of Excellence.

"Preserving the integrity, confidentiality and availability of your company's information and IT resources is imperative. The challenge is to confirm the effectiveness of implemented network security controls, while mitigating vulnerabilities," Choudhury added.

BT's Risk and Compliance Management and Business Continuity is an integral part of the service offered to the Middle East.

The service helps organizations assess their current capabilities, set objectives and develop an approach to risk and compliance that will bring significant business benefits in the management of their operational risks.

"Compliance with changing regulatory environments has become a significant issue in the Middle East's business landscape. Successful management of compliance and operational risk across your networked IT infrastructure can significantly improve companies' profitability. This in turn can contribute to an improvement in credit ratings, a reduction in the cost of capital, and increased stakeholder confidence in regional businesses," Choudhury said.
