UAE unveils car pooling web page
United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, July 16 - 2008 at 08:54
A dedicated webpage to register private car pooling service in the UAE is set for launch next week, reported Khaleej Times. The service is expected to reduce traffic and help eliminate the illegal taxis plying on Dubai roads. The new car pool webpage can be accessed at www.rta.ae. A decision on allowing six- and eight-seater vans to start similar car pooling services will be taken in the near future. But, currently, only light vehicles are approved to offer this service in Dubai.
