GAC Dubai is part of the GAC Group, a leading global provider of integrated logistics, shipping, marine and related services with nearly 300 offices worldwide. The company deployed Boomi Integration Platform initially to electronically link the Nestlé SAP ERP to GAC Warehouse Management System (GACware).

"We were in the process of evaluating a technology that could significantly reduce our IT development time with our trading partners on EDI development projects, using seamless integration and through a cutting-edge technology in B2B environment especially with the rapidly changing needs of the logistics industry,"

says Mr. Sudhir Kumaran, IT Manager at GAC Dubai.

"We needed an easy-to-maintain, cost-effective and value added application that would enable us to integrate with our Principals and Business partners, effectively and efficiently. In this process, we evaluated several integration platforms. Finally, SPAN provided us the Boomi Integration Platform which also came up a requirement on the Nestle project and gave us the right opportunity to evaluate the functionalities of the product. The system allows a bi-directional data-interchange between Nestlé & GAC Dubai systems using EANCOM messages that the application supports through AS2 communication protocol, eliminating complications related to data formats and transfer methodology," continues Mr. Sudhir.

Boomi Integration Software simplifies connectivity between diverse applications running on different operating systems. It enables secure communication between enterprise applications and trading partners while preserving the document data. The application can handle information that come in through IDOCS, EANCOM, EDIFACT, XML and other documents standards as well as through different communication protocols such as AS2, FTP, HTTP to name a few.

"By allowing a smooth flow of information between Nestlé's system and GAC WMS, Boomi has perfectly met both comapanies' requirements for automating the process of Electronic Data Interchange, eliminating manual procedures and reducing costs," comments Mr. Kamel El-Ghossaini, Business Development Manager at SPAN.

"GAC Dubai can now quickly add or modify integration touch points with minimal support from our professional services team," adds El-Ghossaini.

Regardless of the electronic format of the information, GAC Dubai can now integrate systems with their customers and trading partners; Boomi can compile and validate the data into the company's system without the need for any manual intervention. Not only is the Integration Platform simple-to-use, but it also enables B2B application data integration in one easy-to-deploy product.

"With Boomi Integration Platform running, GAC Dubai has taken full ownership of its integration needs. The system enabled us to seamlessly integrate our WMS to Nestlé's applications and this perfectly meets our drive for adding immense value to our range of services," ends Mr. Sudhir.
