Brands managed by SSP range from full service to casual dining restaurants, as well as convenience stores and fast-food outlets. At Abu Dhabi, the brands SSP will feature include Burger King, Sahten, which will serve Lebanese food, Gino's pizza, Yum Cha, a Chinese concept, Upper Crust, Segafredo, Caffè Ritazza, Hippopotamus, Bill Bentley, Flavours and SSP's new bakery brand Panopolis.
'ADAC's vision and mission is to constantly strive to provide best-in-class services to our customers and today's contract signing with SSP underlines that commitment," said H.E. Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman and Managing Director of ADAC.
Henrik Andersen, Managing Director of SSP Gulf and India, who echoed the ADAC Chairman's enthusiasm, said: "Supporting ADAC's aim of establishing the new Terminal 3 at Abu Dhabi Airport as a benchmark for the region goes hand-in-hand with our strategy to be recognised as the leading operator of food and beverage brands in the Middle East."
"We're also delighted to be working in co-operation with our Joint Venture partner, Mr Saeed Ghobash of Ghobash Trading and Investment. His company's local knowledge and sound infrastructure were instrumental in helping us secure this business. While we have an extensive network and experience in F&B outlets in travel locations around the world, Abu Dhabi International Airport will actually be SSP's first venture in the region and our first with Ghobash Trading and Investment, so we are excited to be embarking on this new opportunity with strong regional partner ADAC."
The contract, signed today, means that SSP will commence its operations from the opening of Abu Dhabi International Airport's Terminal 3, which is scheduled to be operational by late October 2008.
