Dubai Maritime City Authority awards Dubai Department of Economic Development

In consolidation of the distinctive relationship between Dubai Maritime City Authority and Dubai Department of Economic Development; Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has awarded the IT Department and the Licensing and Registration Department personnel of the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) for their support in the seamless transfer of the maritime and maritime-related business to (DMCA).

Adel Kalantar, Director - Business support services in Dubai Maritime City authority said: "We are grateful to Dubai Department of Economic Development's personnel for their excellent support and cooperation in the transfer of the maritime and the maritime-related business functions to Dubai Maritime City Authority's Business Support Services Department. They have showed great help in creating the appropriate environment for our staff to operate and throughout the duration of the training. The team work and collaboration between DMCA and DED will lead to an ultimately outstanding benefit which will promote all DMCA clients and the maritime industry in Dubai as well.

Under the new conversion, Dubai Maritime City Authority will facilitate various maritime and maritime-related transactions including; issuance of maritime/maritime related licenses, renewal of licenses, and amendment of licenses and cancellation of license. This used to be handled previously by DED.
