Abu Dhabi's non-oil commerce up 28.4%

The value of Abu Dhabi's non-hydrocarbon external trade in the first half of 2008 totalled Dhs46.64bn ($12.7bn), increasing by 28.4% compared with Dhs36.33bn in the same period last year, according to the emirate's customs administration. Total imports amounted to Dhs40.14bn by the end of June, compared to Dhs30.68bn last year, while non-hydrocarbon exports increased to Dhs3.34bn from Dhs2.71bn, reported Gulf News.
