On this occasion, BisB's Corporate Communications Senior Manager, Khalid Mohammed Alkhayat, said:

"For the second time this year, the Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) is proud to fully support Rekaaz's "fortification of behaviors" campaign, by sponsoring the campaign throughout the GCC countries under the theme of "The Flavour of Submission (to Allah) - Experience It,"

"Rekaaz campaigns have gained good reputation not only in Bahrain but also throughout the other GCC countries and the Arab World in general. The previous campaign which was also sponsored by the Bank proved to be exceptionally successful, and we are hopeful that this event will be even better." Mr. Alkhayat added.

The campaign will begin on 10th September 2008, during the first half of the holy month of Ramadan, for nearly four weeks. Distinguished Islamic scholars from Kuwait, including Dr. Mohammed Al-Awadhi and Shaikh Meshari Rashid Al-Afaasi, will be keynote speakers in this campaign.

Mr. Alkhayat pointed out that the Bahrain Islamic Bank normally supports certain economic seminars and Islamic educational and social activities. Rekaaz campaign is felt to be conducive to the objectives that the first Islamic bank in the Kingdom of Bahrain seeks to achieve.

"Our support for the second time during the year of this innovative programme clearly highlights the wise policy adopted by the Bank as a leading key player in fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities,"

he said.

"It is a good fortune that this campaign, which is sponsored by the Bahrain Islamic Bank throughout the GCC countries, coincides with the Holy month of Ramadan. We sincerely hope that this campaign will serve as an additional spiritual charge for our customers, and we call upon everyone to participate in the activities of the campaign", Mr. Alkhayat said.

More than 8,000 people participated in the Rekaaz campaign earlier this year, and the Bank's sponsorship was highly appreciated and valued by Friday Mosque speakers and by the press. Many messages of thanks were received by the Bank.

Rekaaz is a non-profit making programme which aims at enhancing behaviours and addressing social negative practices. The programme operates in coordination with civil society establishments and the media. The ultimate objective of the programme is to encourage people to maintain genuine Islamic principles and tradition to eliminate alien behaviors.
