The clinic was closed on June 1, 2008 for renovation to upgrade the facility and improve the delivery of health services as part of the overall strategy to improve the Primary Health Care System in Abu Dhabi.

The renovation project will make the center more comfortable for patients and technologically advanced.

The renovation will be extensive and is expected to take about 6 months.

The number of Doctors, Nurses and Clerical Staff will be increased in these PHCs to handle the increase in patient visits.

Dr. Reinhold Bernat, PHCs Director, stated that "the renovation project planned for Al Rodha Clinic is part of the overall strategy for improving the whole primary healthcare system we have at SKMC. The clinic currently had 10 examination rooms. After the renovations, it will have 16 examination rooms. The registration and patient waiting areas will be changed and improved. The new information system will be installed in the clinic which will improve the handling of prescriptions. Our goal is to provide a comfortable environment and less congestion for the patients."

"We have already renovated Al Khaleej, Al Madina and Al Zafaranah PHC Clinics and patients have already begun to witness shorter waiting periods and experience the benefits of having the full range of services such as laboratory, pharmacy, and a radiology department in one location", Dr Bernat added.

"Abu Dhabi Health Services Company - SEHA and SKMC are committed to raising the standards of health care services provided at its clinics to levels practiced at Advanced Primary Health Clinics around the world. We thank our patients for their cooperation and patience in our efforts to improve the quality of health care services in Abu Dhabi".
