Mobily announces net profit of SR774m for H1

Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) announced second half net profits of SR774m, up 40% over last year's results of SR554m over the same period.

Revenues grew by 24% from SR3.906bn in the second half of 2007 to SR4.851bn for second half results of this year.

Mobily's chairman, Abdulaziz Al Saleh Al Sugheyer, said that operational profit grew from SR800m at the end of the second half of 2007 to SR964m for the second half of 2008, presenting a 21% growth.

Earnings per share (EPS) grew 25% from SR1.11 to SR1.55 over the period.

Net profits grew 47% from SR304m for Q2 2007 to SR448m for the second quarter of this year, resulting in earnings per share growth from SR0.6 to SR0.91 over the period.

Revenues rose 25% across the period to SR2.544bn for Q2 of this year, as compared to SR2.029bn for 2007 second quarter results.

Operational profit grew from SR429m in Q2 2007 to SR530m for the second quarter of 2008, presenting a 24% growth.
