ADU signs MoU with INCEIF to train professionals in banking and Islamic finance

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) signed an academic and professional development memorandum of understanding with the International Center for Education in Islamic Finance of Malaysia (INCEIF) to offer training and development qualifications and development programs aiming at producing competent Human Resources in the UAE's and the GCC region's Finance and Islamic Banking sector.

This is in addition to organizing scientific seminars and practical workshops for this fast growing sector.

The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, ADU Chairman of the Executive Board and Mr Agil Natt, INCIEF President and CEO, in the presence of Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, ADU Chancellor and a number of delegates and senior officials of both sides.

His Excellency Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, stressed on the importance of this collaboration resembling a new cornerstone for the University in offering specialized professional qualifications programs which meets the demands of the Banking and Islamic Finance sector in the UAE and the GCC region. He added, that in addition to upgrading the skills of the workforce of the sector, such programs aim at providing these financial organizations competent specialized graduates well prepared with the best educational and practical skills needed in the sector.

His Excellency Bin Harmal further explained saying:

"ADU with all what it possesses of advanced academic and vocational training expertise can definitely provide various real advantages in terms of developing the competency of Human Resources in our nation, especially the Banking and Islamic Finance Sector which is a sector witnessing a rapid growth in the world."


Mr Agil Natt praised this collaboration with ADU noting that it opens new horizons for INCIEF in the UAE and the GCC region especially with ADU's elite reputation.

He also added, "the action plan of this joint collaboration includes offering development qualification programs which provides UAE nationals and expatriates who aim to work in the Finance and Islamic Banking with various specialized programs, in addition to the exchanges of the high caliber faculty from both sides all contributing to the national development of the country."

INCIEF was established in 2006 with an initial budget reaching $140m and is considered one of the largest specialized educational institutes in the finance and Islamic banking sector outside Europe.
