Ryan Mahoney, Managing Director of Better Homes commented:

'Historically people came to Dubai with the intention of only staying for a short-period of time, they lived in rented accommodation and didn't invest too heavily in the contents and therefore saw no need to take insurance.'

However, now that things are changing and expatriates are making permanent homes in Dubai, there is a growing demand for insurance services. Added to this, recent incidents of flooding and fires have left homeowners and businesses open to genuine hardship due to a lack of insurance and low quality coverage.

Mahoney stated, 'It is important for property owners and tenants to have adequate insurance. We recognized that our clients were having trouble accessing first class products so found them one that can be offered at the time of purchase or lease, with an added advantage of discounted premiums.'

RSA, Insurex Middle East General Insurer of the Year for the last two years, worked with Better Homes to come up with a product that offers extensive coverage at an affordable rate. The cover includes elements such as accidental damage in addition to fire, storm and flood. The product is offered via a hassle free, paperless process, where clients receive a complimentary quote based on their property requirement.

Mahoney said: 'We are delighted to be working with such a strong and reputable name in the insurance sector that will provide our clients with the best products at the best rates in a convenient and hassle free manner.'

Paul Holmes, Chief Executive Officer of RSA (UAE) commented:

'We are very excited to be working with Better Homes and to be given the opportunity to take what we believe to be one of the best products in the market directly to those who need it most. Our comprehensive home insurance cover has one of the highest quality standards of protection and risk management, not just in the UAE but worldwide, and we are pleased to share this with Better Homes residents, giving them true assurance and peace of mind.'

Better Homes, in association with RSA is offering the following insurance cover - contents, home, building and car insurance with pet, marine, medical and travel due to be added by the end of 2008.

About RSA:
A few months ago RSA experienced a 'brand refresh' across the world from the earlier Royal & SunAlliance to the new RSA. With a presence in 130 countries and around 22,000 employees serving over 20 million customers, RSA is a name that is trusted worldwide.

The Middle East is no exception. RSA Middle East was the recipient of three awards at the prestigious 2008 Middle East Insurance Awards instituted by POLICY magazine. It won the General Insurer of the Year title in addition to the Training Award and the Medical Insurer of the Year Award for 2007. The General Insurer of the Year award was presented to RSA for the second consecutive year. It has been in business in the Middle East since as long ago as 1956 and in that time, it has built a solid reputation as a company one can depend on. And whilst some companies talk about threats and dangers, RSA talks about life and the things that matter to its customers.

RSA is a large business with 3 customer groups: personal end users, commercial end users and brokers, but its brand is based on a truth that sits across all of these segments: that when something goes wrong, the insurer you want is one that understands your needs and does its utmost to keep you moving - whoever and wherever you are. Its products have been specially tailored to make a perfect fit with the specific needs of the local region. All of them are backed with customer service that puts the customer first, as well as claims service that is reassuringly quick, competent and courteous.

When it comes to personal insurance, RSA can provide first class cover for your car, your home, your travel and your health. Should you need it, RSA can even insure your yacht, your pets and your golf clubs.
