'Dell provides customers superior value while meeting their needs with differentiated services and innovative products. It is committed to simplifying IT for its local customers by providing solutions that will reduce costs and complexity,' said Abdul Raheem Bawazeer, General Manager - Dell Saudi Arabian Branch,
'We are confident that our partners and customers in Saudi Arabia will be delighted with our decision to significantly increase Dell's investment in this region, thereby reaffirming our commitment to the Saudi Arabian market.'
The Saudi Arabian market is considered as one of the fastest growing markets in the EMEA region. This market has tremendous potential for growth and is characterised by customers' demand for high quality products, latest standard technology solutions, and world class services locally. The market dictates the channel community to define and develop their value proposition ensuring the capability of delivering the complete solution. Dell has been in Saudi Arabia working with local distribution partners since 1992.
'Our new office is committed to working more closely with large corporate and public accounts by creating a local team who will be solely responsible for catering to all requirements of these clients as well as developing the resources of channel partners. We at Dell will continue to provide state of the art and customised technology offerings to our valued partners and customers,'
added Bawazeer.
According to IDC, Q1 2008 EMEA market leadership rankings, Dell achieved the number 1 position in Saudi Arabia with a year-on-year growth of 75.6 % and share of 25.8 % in all form factors. Dell also ranked as the number one vendor in the desktop and notebook market with a year-on-year growth of 73.5% and share of 25.6% in Saudi Arabia.
The new office will implement phase II of Dell branded services, which were launched in April last year. With the opening of this new branch Dell aims to provide a number of job opportunities for locals and has already begun its recruitment campaign to tap local talent and to create a strong team of specialists. This new office will bring Dell's world wide expertise, standardisation and efficiency to their valued partners, resellers and clients locally.
In addition to the new office in Riyadh, KSA, Dell Middle East currently has three office locations in Dubai, Cairo and Bahrain. Dell Middle east enjoyed a 25% year-on-year unit growth across Middle East in 2007 and the revenue growth was robust in 2007 year-on-year with 24% in the Middle East, according to IDC.
