Dubai issues 7,961 licenses in H1

The Dubai Department of Economic Development has announced a total of 7,961 licenses issued to various businesses in the first-half of 2008. The commercial sector took up 83%, followed by the professional sector at 15% and the industrial and tourism sector 1% each. DED has also issued 107 new licenses to branches of foreign firms from India, China, South Korea, USA, Britain, The British Virgin Islands, and Japan.
