Aiming to nurture the best in the industry, KPMG initiated in 2002 the 'Jassim Fakhro People Development Fund', named after Mr. Jassim Fakhro, founder of the firm's Bahrain office in 1968. The fund aims to lead the Human Resources evolution, educate, train and develop people skills, by offering sponsorship and financial support towards professional qualifications courses and exams, awards & rewards programs, trainings & internship placements, international secondments and more; the funds' programs are destined for the region's academic high achievers, industry professionals, in addition to the firms' employees.
Under the patronage of the 'Jassim Fakhro People Development Fund', the HR team has welcomed 12 summer interns from various universities in Bahrain, whom have joined the Audit-Tax-Advisory practices. In addition to introducing the KPMG's GO (Global Opportunities) program, which opened the door to numerous secondments from the region to KPMG UK and US and vice-versa.
