'The test has shown how SekurTrack handles cross border geo fences and multi roaming GSM networks with the capability to set the preferred roaming partner of the GSM operator in the SekurTrack device. The web based application was a part of the package and was available to all motor cycle rally enthusiasts,' he added.

The trip has been on the road for 6 weeks covering 12000KM and was updated daily in real time throughout the test and the rally and returning cross continents all the way across Europe and the Middle East until its final destination back in the Gulf, the overall trip play back is also available online.

'The communications cost optimization feature enables us to manage the automatic selection of operators whilst roaming across the borders and the ability to define a list of up to 100 GSM operators (PLMN-Public Land Mobile Network) thus allowing us to select the most cost effective roaming operator network,' said Al Salah.

He added, 'This feature can be activated either periodically, according to a pre-programmed timer or upon new GSM registration caused either by reset or by leaving the area covered by previously selected network.'

'Sekurus International has combined this feature with the existing vehicle tracking and asset maintenance management thereby extending Sekurtrack's GSM roaming services for data communications,' said Al Salah.

'The web based application is provided as a part of the offering and can be readily integrated with existing back-office systems,' he also added.
