GEMS Education partners with E-Sports to offer holiday summer camps
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, July 22 - 2008 at 14:20
- PRESS RELEASE
With summer camps becoming highly popular and sought after this year, GEMS Education has joined with leading sports management company E-Sports to deliver a fun and comprehensive holiday experience to students in Dubai during the months of July and August.
GEMS Summer Camps provide 28 different activities including football, cricket, tennis, climbing, swimming, cooking, gymnastics, information communication technology, theatre, art and crafts to students aged 4 to 15.
Clive Keevil, Senior Education Officer at GEMS Education, said "The rise in popularity of summer camps is both a reflection of the quality of the Summer School package and changing lifestyles in Dubai where more families are choosing to stay longer over the summer."
"More families now have both parents working and also have a need to keep their children active and learning in a fun environment during the long summer holidays. With qualified instructors and a controlled, safe and supervised indoor environment, GEMS Summer Camps provide the perfect solution for parents. Children also prefer the lively and entertaining atmosphere of the camp compared to spending their summer break confined at home, so there are also huge social benefits."
GEMS and E-Sports joined forces this year after a similar programme conducted last year turned out to be a spectacular success. This year the camps are held at four GEMS schools, The Westminster School, GEMS Wellington International School, Jumeirah Primary School and Royal Dubai School.
Gareth Mordey, General Manager, E-Sports said: "We are glad to be working with GEMS, operating and managing its holiday camps for the second year in a row. The four GEMS schools hosting this year's camp have the best indoor facilities available in the UAE and participants are finding the camp a fun and enriching experience."
