The two-year PDP will help participants evaluate their current learning and performance levels and use the resulting information to assist them in planning their own personal, educational, and career development.
The 33 MBRPLD members attending the unique program will be taught how to articulate personal goals and evaluate their achievements; become effective, independent, and confident self-learners; improve their learning, career management and personal marketing skills; and adopt a positive attitude to life-long learning and career development.
'The PDP is a key element of our Government Leaders program, since effective leadership is significantly influenced by personality. This program aims to help leaders know their personal and professional strengths and weaknesses and thus plan appropriately for positive change. The MBRPLD is pleased that our members have responded well to our call for personal evaluation and growth and to our Government Leaders initiative in general,' said Adel Al Shared, Director of MBRPLD.
The Government Leaders program, developed in collaboration with international business school INSEAD and executive education specialist Duke Corporate Education, is a level of MBRPLD that seeks to develop the qualifications of future government leaders of Dubai. Candidates to this program undergo 24 months of intense training in the areas of personal development; technical knowledge; management skills; and leadership development. Each potential member is partnered with an individual advisor and mentor who works for a 500 Fortune company.
The Government Leaders program offers various innovative training activities to enhance knowledge transfer and ensure optimum learning. These include mentoring; the Dubai Policy Watch; personal development planning; book review sessions; a one-on-one training program; a study visit program; and special workshops. The MBRPLD recently launched the second cycle of the program after graduating a first batch of 33 participants.
