Bechtel Australia awarded Red Sea Housing the contract to engineer, procure and construct a 1,100 man housing facility in Guinea, West Africa, in support of the Guinea Alumina project being constructed at San Ragedi. The project is due to start in September 2008 and is scheduled for completion by the end of May 2009.
"Due to proximity, we are proud to announce that the accommodations and support buildings will be manufactured out of Red Sea's Ghana Operations facility utilizing our unique PVC composite panel buildings which are well suited to the environmental conditions prominent in the region," stated Mark Sumner, Red Sea's Vice President for Ghana.
"This marks yet another milestone for Red Sea Housing as this is our first major construction project in Guinea. Our first contract in Guinea, in January of this year at the time made it the 56th country where we have delivered quality projects," Mr. Don Sumner, Managing Director added, "At SR76.5m this is very much in line with our sales target as we continue with our strategy to build long term value-added relationships with all our stakeholders, which include our core customers."
