RAK launches awareness campaign

The UAE emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is launching health awareness campaigns following the outbreak of illnesses among residents due to high humidity, reported Khaleej Times. The campaigns will mostly target remote mountainous areas where there are limited health services and most of the residents are unaware of the effects of high temperatures. An official said hospitals and healthcare centres in the emirate are now registering increased numbers of people suffering from dehydration and fever, hypertension, low and high blood pressure, diabetes and physical stress that are said to have been intensified by the current high temperatures.
