The focus of these seminars was to create awareness in professionals and highlight the importance of Six Sigma.
About 200 professionals from all major companies of Saudi Arabia gathered in those places for a one-of-a-kind event. The seminars were followed by light refreshments and Networking sessions.
Mr. Muhammad Asim Baig, President of MEQMP started the presentation in Dammam explaining few basics of Six Sigma and informed about the Mission, Vision and membership benefits of MEQMP.
He mentioned that 'Quality is Free' if the methodology applied properly and efficiently. Six Sigma is one of the tools to do it. Mr. Atique Ur Rehman the Executive Committee member of MEQMP started the seminar in Riyadh in a similar way.
Mr. K.K Singh the director at Asian Institute of Quality Management was the lead speaker at the seminar. The title of the seminars was 'Six Sigma - The secret of success behind Fortune 500 companies'. Seminar was focused on History, Benefits and methodologies involved in Six Sigma. Mr. Singh explained about the myths of Six Sigma that what people normally misunderstand about it. The myth that only big companies need Six Sigma and it is hard to understand and implement it in small organization was successfully broken. The presentation done by Mr. Singh gave a clear idea about the philosophy behind this important method. Participants were delighted about the presentation and asked to conduct more courses for the yellow, green and black belt for Six Sigma.
Mr. Muhammad Asim Baig thanked SAQC and Contact Pakistan for their cooperation and confirmed that MEQMP will continue to conduct such seminars and trainings in future as part of its mission and vision.
Mr. Tahir Butt, Contact Pakistan Founder, thanked MEQMP and SAQC for sponsoring the event and admired both organizations who have realized the importance of internet-based virtual communities.
Overwhelming participation of Quality Professionals at MEQMP Seminars on Six Sigma
Two Six Sigma Awareness Seminars were organized by Middle East Quality Management Professionals (MEQMP), the largest Quality Group of the Middle East in Dammam & Riyadh, on 19th and 20th July 2008 respectively. Jeddah seminar will be on 29th July 2008.
