The visiting delegation was received by Water Transport Service Promotion Team, and Operation & Performance Dep't at RTA Marine Agency.

Hussain Al Saffar, Director of Operation & Performance Dep't at RTA Marine Agency, explained that such visits aim in the first respect to enlighten community members with the importance of water transport and marine mass transit services.

'The public will be aware of the role of these transit modes in easing traffic congestion and providing alternative transport modes capable of ensuring timely arrival to all destinations, let alone the pleasant time spent in a tourist trip by the Waterbus across Dubai Creek.

'The Agency is seeking to introduce students of various age groups in the emirate of Dubai and others to Waterbus services. It is time to acquaint the public with the diverse services offered by marine mass transport; which is poised to play an important future rule in Dubai.

'The visit included different presentations, namely taking the students in a tourist tour via the Water Bus across Dubai Creek, a complimentary visit to the Heritage Museum of Marine Agency situated in the Floating Office at Al Seef Station, demonstrations by employees of the Agency, and other events including quizzes and prizes.

The Water Transport Service Promotion Team provided a thorough explanation of the Water Bus including passenger lines, service hours and fares. Students were involved in the process through demonstrative pulling of life jackets from under the seat in a record time. A three-minute movie about the Water Bus was played and a visit was arranged for students to the Museum of Al Seef Station where they viewed heritage items and prototypes of antique boats.

At the end of the tour, the Team, in coordination with Marketing & Corporate Communication Dep't staff, gave some quizzes related to RTA, Marine Agency, Water Bus and marine heritage of the city. The Marketing Team gave away prizes to winners along with commemorative gifts to the visiting students.
