Among these is one of the UK's leading fashion chains, New Look and worldwide book retailer, Borders who will open their very first flagship store in the Emirate at Sharjah City Centre, together with two leading food and beverage outlets, Krispy Kreme and Hardees.

The four stores were recently handed over on schedule to start their fit-out process.

Following the handover, Ali Al Abdallah, VP Asset Management, MAF Shopping Malls said:

'Sharjah City Centre draws one of the highest footfall figures in the Emirate and these have been increasing with each year. If you look at our latest statistics, in the first half of the year itself, we have welcomed about five million visitors, which is up by 15 per cent from the same period last year. These are very positive figures for any retailer looking to expand.'

'Additionally, Sharjah City Centre is developed and operated by the leading shopping malls developers in the region. We have amassed immense expertise in this industry over the years. We constantly reassess our portfolio to ensure it is keeping pace with the changing times and want to offer residents the convenience and accessibility to find leading retailers in Sharjah itself. Having been chosen as a venue by brands such as New Look and Borders shows the confidence they have in our development,' added Al Abdullah.

Spread over 14,723 square metres, New Look will introduce affordable new collections reflecting the latest in fashion and trends for men, women and teens every week.

On the other hand the new 9,889 square metres Borders store will feature over 70,000 bestsellers and key titles, in an award-winning retail format.

After an enjoyable shopping spree, customers will be able to savour the freshest doughnuts from Krispy Kreme and the unmatched flavour of Hardee's fast food experience at the food court in Sharjah City Centre.
