With this deal, the Dubai-based channel has ensured the widest possible exposure for Sri Lanka's biggest international cricket series of the year. The matches will command a potential audience in excess of half a billion fans spread across 100 countries.

The radio rights in the UK and Europe have already been sold to BBC, while DirecTV will telecast the matches in North and Central America, Astro in Malaysia and Fox Sports in Australia. The telecast will also be available to the subscribers of Spize TV in Continental Europe, and Supersport across Africa.

Chris McDonald, CEO, Taj Television Limited, owners of Ten Sports, said:

"Sri Lankan cricket is incredibly dynamic and colourful, and we are keen to bring that excitement to millions of fans across the world.

We broadcast and syndicate half of the world's cricket, and it is our responsibility to the various cricket boards as well to the game of cricket itself to ensure the widest possible audience for all matches we produce."

India start their tour of Sri Lanka on July 23 this year, which features three Test matches and five one day internationals.

Ten Sports is the world's biggest broadcaster and producer of cricket, televising matches from Sharjah, West Indies, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Zimbabwe to a global audience across television, broadband and mobile platforms
