- PRESS RELEASE
International Expo Consults (IEC) has announced the dates for the 13th edition of its Autoparts Middle East (APME) 2009 show.
APME, the market leading event for the Middle East's automobile industry, has been repositioned to target increased regional customer demands; market trends; and new developments in equipment, manufacture and after sales.
APME is tailored for cars, trucks, light, heavy and special vehicles, and motorbikes. All range of products and international technologies will be displayed, including components, spare parts, accessories, garage and service station equipment, and vehicle services.
"The high standards of living and increasing population in Dubai have led to exponential growth in the vehicle sector. Therefore it was time for us to revamp the show to truly reflect the new dynamics of the autoparts industry," said Abdul Rehman Falaknaz, President of IEC.
According to recent figures from the Dubai World Statistics Department, import of vehicle spare parts in 2007 accounted for 60.65% of total autoparts trade, totalling Dhs11.05bn, while exports made up 2.33% (Dhs425m) and re-exports ran at 37.02% (Dhs6.75m). The top three re-export destinations for 2007 were Iran, Iraq and Russia.
"More and more international vehicle parts and equipment suppliers are entering the Middle East market, looking to co-operate with regional importers or to establish a local branded subsidiary," Mr Falaknaz explained.
APME 2009 will bring together all the key regional decision makers and buyers or original equipment and spare parts for car, vehicle, trucks, buses and related transport equipments.
A conference programme will focus on market trends and new technologies for vehicles, under the theme 'Technologies and Reparability'. International key note speakers will present on a wide range of topics including technological trends and aftermarket opportunities for business, repair and maintenance.
APME 2009 is supported by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, and other regional and international organizations.
