Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) hosts Third Annual GPCA Forum

  • United Arab Emirates: Saturday, July 26 - 2008 at 10:55
  • PRESS RELEASE

Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) announced that it will be partnering again with Chemical Week to organize the Third Annual GPCA Forum on December 2 - 4, 2008 at the Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, UAE.

Based on the 75% in-crease in attendance in 2007 over the debut event in 2006 and an expanded marketing cam-paign this year, GPCA expects significant growth again in 2008.

The GPCA Forum brings together CEOs and other senior leaders from petrochemicals, chemi-cals, engineering, construction, shipping and logistics companies, as well as private equity ex-ecutives, bankers, financiers and consultants from around the world to discuss the most impor-tant opportunities and challenges in the Gulf.

The 2008 program is themed "Managing growth and competitiveness in a cyclical industry" and features two days of speakers, top-caliber net-working receptions and special events. Special sessions on regional logistics and human re-sources have also been added to this year's agenda.

"Chemical Week's worldwide brand and audience have played a key role in building the GPCA
Forum into the most important event in the Middle East for the petrochemicals industry, and we look forward to working together again to make the 2008 event our biggest to date," said Ab-dullah S. Bin Zaid Al Hagbani, Secretary General of GPCA.

"Unparalleled access to the industry's leaders and decision-makers and the latest marketplace intelligence make the GPCA Forum a must-attend event for anyone doing business in the Gulf region."

"Chemical Week is very pleased to be continuing our partnership with GPCA, and to be a part of this prestigious international industry gathering," said Lyn Tattum, Publisher and Group Vice President, Chemical Week. "The huge year-over-year growth the GPCA Forum has seen and tremendous support we have received from the industry clearly indicate the need for the stra-tegic dialogue that takes place at this one-of-a-kind event in the Middle East."

Last year the GPCA's landmark Second Annual Forum in Dubai attracted eminent industry per-sonalities who shared their insights and experiences with delegates at the conference and exhi-bition including Mukesh Ambani, Chairman & Managing Director, Reliance Industries; Ray Wilcox, President & CEO, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company; Andrew Liveris, CEO, The Dow Chemical Company; Peter Huntsman, CEO, Huntsman Corporation; Stephanie A. Burns, Chairman, President & CEO, Dow Corning Corporation; Volker Trautz, President and CEO Bassel Polyolefins and Abdulrahman A. Al-Zamil, Director, Al-Zamil Group; Mohamed Al Mady, Vice Chairman & CEO, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Hamad Al-Terkait, President & CEO, Equate Petrochemical Company (EQUATE) Kuwait, amongst others.
