Glitzy opening marks launch of Dubai Fashion Fiesta 2008

A host of fashion celebrities and the collections of international designers contributed to the glamorous launch of the DSS 2008 Mega Event - Dubai Fashion Fiesta on July 24 at the World Trade Centre.

The opening was attended by Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Shopping Festival Office, and witnessed the presence of local, regional, and international media.

Laila Suhail said:

"Dubai Fashion Fiesta is not just a summer fashion event in Dubai but a prominent fixture among high-profile fashion events held annually. The presence of international designers and their latest collections in this event gives credence to the fact that Dubai is the regional hub for fashion in the region."


The collections of prominent international designers Datin Noor Ishak and Ritu Kumar, and award-winning local designer Zahra Mohammed, marked the opening day of Dubai Fashion Fiesta 2008.

Shows for July 26


Falguni & Shane Peacock (India), Deeya Nanda (India), and Jessica Joyce (Holland) will present their collections on July 26.

The Falguni & Shane Peacock brand started retailing in India in 2002 and is today available in major fashion capitals such as London, Dubai, Athens, Hong Kong, Singapore, and New York.

Dutch fashion designer Jessica Joyce is an explorer in the field of contemporary women's wear.

Her collections are known to be sleek, edgy, and avant-garde.

Deeya Nanda is a young graduate from Central St. Martins and the London College of Fashion and premiered her collection at the London Graduate Fashion Week.
