HE Dr Mariam was accompanied by Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Shopping Festival, Yousif Mubarak, COO of the DSF Office, and a host of officials and dignitaries.
Laila Suhail said:
'Min Bladi Al Emarat is popular not only as a heritage event but one that has contributed to the understanding of UAE and its traditions. Our aim is to make it possible for visitors and tourists to have an insight into the culture of this country and enable young Emaratis to relate to their identity.'
As part of competitions during the event, the Best Perfume contest was held on July 24 and the three winners were awarded gift vouchers in addition to cash prizes. The winners were honoured by HE Dr. Mariam and Laila Suhail.
Spanning eight days of displays, demonstrations, and contests, Min Bladi Al Emarat highlights the culture and traditions of UAE. Contests in the coming week include the Best Poem contest (July 26), Youla competition (July 27), Emarati contest (July 28), Best Hand-made Product (July 29), Best Dairy competition (July 30), and Best Popular Dress contest (July 31).
